Wal Mart is not just shaping the way we have to shop. They are now controlling manufacturers and how to make products! Cheap, cheap, cheap are the three words I can put forth as an employee of a manufacturing company that will do anything to maintain a low cost to ensure Wal Mart profits!
Manufacturers are being forced to lower quality standards and reduce headcount! There is a bigger price we are paying for those lower costs! I would caution everyone when shopping at Wal-Mart that products made for Wal-Mart are not the same as products purchased for other smaller retailers.
Check your labels and comparison shop!

Thank you Kathleen for speaking up!
Our family has experienced what we like to call the Wal-Mart phenomenon. Even seeming like benign articles like socks are sold in a two-tiered system. One tier for regular retailers and a second inferior tier destined for your Wal-Mart store.
We purchased three Emerson VCR’s and all three of them began to fail after the 90 warranty period had expired. The price was right but the quality was sub-standard. We need a new VCR but we’ll wait until we can travel to a larger town to purchase one because the only place to purchase them where we live is Wal-Mart and I hate having to replace ours every 90-days.
I personally think Wal-Mart originally coined the phrase “throw-away society” because their merchandise just doesn’t hold up to the test of time.
Thanks again for your wise words of wisdom.
