Customer Left in the Dark

Two weeks ago I purchased a carton of gourmet mixed mushrooms on sale for 1.99 and was charged the full price of 3.99. When I went back to the store (Greenville – “birthplace of Meijer”) the girl in customer service told me about the refund law, 10 times the amount of overcharge, etc. This was a first for me!

I told her I’m often overcharged and only get the difference back, never being informed about the law. She said some of her fellow employees “don’t think the customers deserve it”, so they don’t mention it. How about that attitude?

    I think it’s typical. After all it’s work. Wouldn’t it be terrible if the clerk actually had to do the job they were hired to do?
