Dear Ginny,

I've been searching for several hours and I have been unable to locate a "Scanner Accuracy Law" for the state of Kentucky. I would suggest you write a letter of complaint to your legislator asking them to submit a bill similar to Michigan's scanner law.

It also never hurts to contact the store manager, writing a letter often brings the problem to their attention and helps them implement measures to prevent this type of consumer confidence problem.

If contacting the store manager does not bring a satisfactory response, please consider writing a letter of complaint to the Kentucky Consumer Advocate (information found below), the Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau.

These agencies are in place to work on the behalf of consumers. While it would be easy to believe that a few cents here or there are no big deal, they add up quickly. It doesn't take a store long to rack up hundreds of dollars in ill-gotten-gain.

I hope you find this information helpful. If I happen to locate more information, I'll be sure to post it here.

Sincerely,
Annette M. Hall
