Dear Lindsay,

I can totally relate to your frustration. It takes a real savvy shopper to avoid getting bitten by the overcharge bug and their appears to be no relief in site for harried shoppers.

To answer your question. The Margarita mix may qualify for the bounty, you don't mention if the mix contains alcohol. If it does, the store may put up a fuss. I've heard from more than one shopper that stores refuse the refund on puchases of alcoholic beverages, though I have been unable to locate anything excempting alcoholic beverages in Michigan code.

The second purchase you made in Standale, does not qualify because you must have the receipt in hand, showing the overcharged amount. Because you caught the error before completing the sale, the sale does not qualify for the refund. I had this happen to me once, so yes, I know it's frustrating.

Thank you for writing in.
