Second-hand Xbox
Posted: 2008-05-12. Categories: Ohio, Wal-mart

My son got a job at McDonalds about 3-months-ago, he wanted to save money for the things he wanted, and one particular item was an Xbox 360. Well he finally had enough and yesterday we went to Wal-Mart to get his 360.

He was so happy, his mother and I were so proud that he was learning what working was all about.

Well, when we arrived home from Wal-Mart and opened the box. It was a mess. The controller was covered in dirt or food. Nothing was sealed in plastic the proper way. It was horrible.

My son had just paid full price for a used Xbox. I was upset. I made him pack it back up and we went back up to Wal-Mart. We were treated horrible at the customer service desk. They were very rude to us it was unforgivable.

They did give him his money back. But I bet they put the Xbox back on the shelf for someone else to purchase. They didn’t even let us fill out the form as to why we were returning it.

I lost gas and time and also my respect for Wal-Mart! They never even said they were SORRY. I think customers should be informed if the item they are buying was a return.

Thank You,

    Dear Kristina,

I couldn’t agree with you more regarding stores marking returned items as returns. Some stores are pretty good about things like that, such as Frys Electronics, which I don’t believe you have in Ohio.

It is always a good idea to check the box to be sure it has the original seals on them. Of course, the stores do their best to try to make sure you can’t tell that an item has been opened and/or previously sold.

Our family makes it a habit of buying the more expensive items we purchase from reliable stores, instead of Wal-mart, which is known for it’s low prices and low quality merchandise.

I do hope your son has been able to purchase a new Xbox with his earnings.
