I just received this e-mail from the Cajun Grocer.

<b>Urgent Message regarding your Turducken ROLL order from CajunGrocer.com</b>

Greetings!

You are receiving this email since you recently ordered a Turducken ROLL with Cornbread Stuffing. By our own internal error, some of these ROLLS have the wrong ingredient list and cooking instructions on the label. We do apologize for inconvenience. If your label states that you have Creole pork Sausage and it takes 4-1/2 hours to cook, then your label is INCORRECT. Please note there is no pork sausage in our Turducken ROLLS stuffed with CORNBREAD.

Please follow the cooking instructions below (<a href="http://www.cajungrocer.com/turducken-roll-with-cornbread-dressing-p-1619.html" target="_blank" title="Turducken ROLL with Cornbread Dressing" rel="nofollow">cooking method</a>).

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR TURDUCKEN ROLL w/ Cornbread

PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees. Remove ALL packaging. Do not remove the woven threading around the roll. Add 3/4 - 1 cup of water to the pan. Place roll in pan, skin side up and cover. Conventional Oven: Bake 1 hour 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake additional 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Convection Oven: Bake 1 hour 15 minutes, then 15 minutes uncovered. Baste as needed until golden brown. Use a meat thermometer to insure your turduchen roll has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Remove woven threading before serving. Slice and serve.

INGREDIENTS for Turducken ROLL w/ Cornbread: Turkey breast [containing up to 8% of a solution (turkey broth, salt, sodium phosphates, sugar, flavorings)], duckling breast meat (contains up to 4% of retained water), chicken thigh meat (may contain up to 8% retained water), water, yellow cornmeal (enriched with folic acid), pork, enriched bleached wheat flour (bleached flour, niacin, reduced iron, enzymes added for improved baking, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin and folic acid), evaporated milk (milk, dipotassium phosphate, carrageenan, vitamin D3), white granulated sugar, soybean oil (soybean oil with TBHQ and dimethylpolysiloxane,an anti-foam agent added), Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning [salt, red pepper and other spices, garlic, silicon dioxide (to prevent caking)], pork liver, onions, green onions, green bell pepper, baking powder (sodium acid phosphate, bicarbonate of sofa, cornstarch, monocalcium phosphate), salt, crushed red chili pepper flakes, black pepper, white pepper, red pepper. ALLERGEN INFORMATION: Contains wheat, milk and soybean.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your business.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
CajunGrocer

<b>Tur-Duc-Hen Roll Update</b>

I had called the Cajun Grocer on Saturday, reporting to them that our Tur-Duc-Hen Roll had arrived with the wrong instructions. A representative from the company returned my call today.

A young lady named Amelia called and left a message with my husband. She informed him that she was calling with the correct baking directions, which of course is now a moot point, since my bird was cooked to death.

I returned the call and spoke with another customer service representative at the Cajun Grocer. She was not overly concerned about my ordeal, if her telephone manner was any indication of her mind-set. However, she did offer to refund my money or replace our Tur-Duc-Hen Roll.

I opted for the latter, since I was so looking forward to eating Turkducken once again. She promised to send it out the week of November 30th, since I'm in no hurry for it. I figure it will be a wonderful treat mid-January, after all the holiday festivities.

I reminded her that they could have a huge issue, if they sent out other Tur-Duc-Hen Rolls with the wrong instructions. She thanked me again for letting them know. Frankly, I was expecting a little more in the way of a reward for bringing this matter to their attention but I guess they didn't find the information that valuable. I think it's a huge deal.

-------------------
On an entirely different note: I've sent off two emails and mentioned to the young lady on the telephone that their phone number listed on their website (1-888-CRAWFISH) actually goes to a carpet cleaning service in Columbus, Ohio.
-------------------

Don't let my issue stop you from ordering from the Cajun Grocer, their products are fabulous and arrive as ordered. The birds are fully-frozen and the best you can find anywhere. Just be sure you have the correct instructions before you attempt to cook your Turducken this year.
