I know by now you are probably thinking, “just get over it.” The problem is the more I write, the more I recall. I was digging around in my purse when I found an unclaimed Cashout Voucher from the Luxor Casino. It was then that I realized I had lied or rather misrepresented the facts just a tad and I want to set the record straight.
In my Mandalay Bay Review, I posted:
Mandalay Bay Casino: Slot Machines
I’m not a professional gambler. I wanted to sit down, relax and play for a while. I spent a little time at the slot machines but I didn’t play long, especially once I noticed a common theme at the Mandalay Bay, which I discovered after playing the slots at the Luxor Casino. Many of the slot machines at the Mandalay Bay Casino have had their options limited. One game that I played was supposed to be a 5 cent machine, but all the smaller denominations were removed, so players were only allowed to play 50 cents, $1.00 or $2.00 per spin.
Those type of machines are intended for hardcore gamblers. If you ask me, the Mandalay Bay is all about squeezing every nickel out of their guests as possible. They do a terrific job at marketing, but fail to deliver. I played with $40.00 and actually broke even playing the slots. I figured that was a sign to stop playing, and I did.
That isn’t exactly true.
I actually came home with a Cashout Voucher from the Luxor Casino because the Mandalay Bay Casino won’t accept it.
Again, I upheld my end of the bargain. I signed up for my FREE M Life Players Club card, thus allowing MGM Resorts International to track my playing and spending habits, whenever I use my new M Life card. I used the card when I tried out the slot machines at the Luxor. I used it again when I sampled the machines at the Mandalay Bay Casino.
I thought it was a little odd that the slot machine would accept my other two vouchers but no matter how many times I tried the machine refused to accept my 20 cent voucher. I received an error, which directed me to see a cashier, where I was informed that I had to return to the Luxor in order to claim my 20 cents.
You’ve got to be kidding me? Both casinos are owned by MGM Resorts International, both casinos accept the M Life card, but the vouchers aren’t interchangeable? That is just another way MGM Resorts International thumbs it’s nose at the little guy.
My voucher is good for 180 days, I would love to give it to someone who is traveling that way, just to ensure I don’t get ripped off for even one more penny. The trouble is, I can’t even mail it to someone because the postage to mail it would cost more than the voucher is worth.
Maybe I should just burn it up in the woodburner to help heat the house?
