Don’t you ever wonder how Walmart’s low prices and low wages translates into billions of dollars in profits? Every time you shop at their stores, you are making a decision, a vote of confidence in your food.  You are what you eat, it sustains us and makes us healthy or sick. I was pretty excited to hear that Carl’s Jr. has come out with a new grass-fed beef hamburger. So, last night we took a drive down the hill and bought one.

Complaints shouldn’t be the only feedback you provide a company. When you receive extraordinary service or someone goes above and beyond to help you, say so.

The bottom line is you do what you can with what you’ve got to work with. You have to start somewhere or end up in the hospital. That’s really the only choice you have, as I see it.

Like you, I too am worried about my family. I worry that they aren’t getting enough vitamins. I worry they will get cancer, so I try to buy organic, no hormones — pure food — but it’s impossible. I feel like a total failure, but I swear I’m not giving up.

When I found out Golden Corral was coming to Modesto, I was so excited. Until I ate there. The Golden Corral just isn’t the same Golden Corral I used to eat at years ago. We always give new restaurants several chances before writing them off. We’ve given it over a half-dozen chances now, and the verdict is in: it sucked.

Minecraft holds no interest for me. I was going for the buffets. I told Shawn I was going on a Seafood Diet, if I saw food, I planned to eat it. I promised to gain 10 pounds while we were there – and I meant it. I have severe food issues, which leave me unable to eat very much at one sitting, so I nibble. I find that if I eat a nice variety I manage to eat enough to keep me going.

My husband encouraged me to purchase the all-day pass to the Bayside Buffet at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, I was tempted. We chose instead to eat dinner our first night in Las Vegas in-house, and selected the Bayside Buffet because I love having a little bit of everything for a meal, so buffets are ideal.

“Wendy’s has fish,” may not be news to you but to those of us deprived souls who live out in the sticks, where yes, we have McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Jack-in-Box — we just tried it out for the first time. Actually, I mean I had a fish sandwich from Wendy’s today. Their fish […]

When I visit a hotel website I am looking for an accurate description of not only their rates, services and accommodations, but also what I can expect to find at their facility. In preparation for a recent trip to California’s Great America, I had the opportunity to explore and compare quite a few hotels in the Silicon Valley where we were visiting. It […]

I have a Subway near where I work that literally makes their bread smaller than typical Subways. It is about one-third narrower but still a foot long. Needless to say they also put about one-third less meat, veggies, cheese, etc. on each sandwich. This is obviously a choice made by the owner of the location. […]

Went to a Subway Restaurant at Route 59 and Route 64 in West Chicago, the person waiting on me didn’t speak or understand English and when I got home the bread on the sandwich I ordered was so hard we couldn’t eat them. I guess what they advertise when they say, “you loose weight by […]

I visited my local Subway Restaurant, in Tucson, Arizona on Oracle and Wetmore and ordered a turkey plus bacon 6-inch sandwich. The sandwich came to $4.85; I paid with a ten-dollar bill. The clerk did not give me a receipt and when he gave me $1.15 in change, I did not realize that the change […]

I recently had a very bad experience with subway. I purchased a Turkey Breast Sub and took it back office only to end up choking on turkey feathers that had been processed into the meat. If that was not horrible enough, I went back to talk to the store manager, (my office is in the […]
