Blank Stares Common

I have a very close friend who is a manager of a Walmart Super Store in south Florida. Listening to her stories about irate and disrespectful customers is a real listening experience.

Here is my latest shopping experience. I purchased a DVD player. I asked several employees (not easy to find one) about the differences between players. They gave me different answers, or did not have a clue or just gave me blank stares.

When I got the player home I found it to be previously opened with a missing remote. When I brought it back to the store I was given an exchange with no problem.

Was it worth the hassle? Yes, as I saved $50.00 compared to Best Buy. Do I like shopping at Walmart? NO! Will I return? Yes. However, in the future I will open boxes, check receipts, and make sure I receive everything I paid for – before leaving the store.

My friend gave me this bit of advice. “If you want low prices come to Walmart. If you want customer service, high quality products, or English speaking employees, go elsewhere.”
