My husband and I were shopping at Wal-Mart for a short period of time. We found that the isles are so narrow that 2 shopping carts can barely fit through an isle.
People are so into your personal space that we actually made a joke that if we are somewhere else and someone gets in our personal space, we will just look at each other and say, “Wal-Mart!”
Today we went to Wal-Mart to see if cleaning supplies, makeup, lotion — things like that were cheaper there than at Kroger. Of course, it was “bumper to bumper” cart traffic, but that wasn’t the bad experience.
We went through a self-checkout line, and I was scanning the items and scanned my lotion, and it rang up $5.12. I was 100% certain that it was $5.00 (I even went back to double check, and I was correct). I told the check out helper and she came over and took the $.12 off, no questions asked.
This has happened to me the past 3 or 4 times I have been to Wal-Mart. I wish I would have written down the prices to all the items we purchased, but I didn’t. I feel like they think that people won’t raise a stink about $.12 or so.
There are 24 lanes of checkouts and 3 of them are open, which means that there will always be a line, so customers won’t complain about a $ .12 overcharge. If they are charging just $ .12 more than what is on the price tag, then they are making a billion or 2 more than what they actually should.
I went to the Customer Service desk to “make them aware”, and the guy who listened to my concern was looking all around as I was telling him my story.
He said, “Well the people who are responsible for changing the price are responsible for that and they need to be more responsible.”
I was so disgusted! We are so finished shopping at Wal-Mart! I will go to Target or Meijer, even though Meijer is way overpriced, they at least have the correct price on the tag!
Thank you,
Katie
