When I found out Golden Corral was coming to Modesto, I was so excited. Until I ate there. The Golden Corral just isn’t the same Golden Corral I used to eat at years ago. We always give new restaurants several chances before writing them off. We’ve given it over a half-dozen chances now, and the verdict is in: it sucked.
We opted for the refund because due to their stance on genetically modified organisms, we’ve decided not to purchase any more Schwan’s. I don’t understand why it takes three months to get a $15 refund from this company. This is not the first time we’ve had trouble with them.
Release Permits under 7 CFR Part 340, low and behold tobacco was listed as well as: corn, to sweet oranges, from black cottonwood, to sugar beets, grapefruit, potato, soy, walnuts, chestnuts, alfalfa, sorghum, casava, apple, eucalyptus, sugar cane, mustard, cotton, tomato, beets, Mexican lime, peppermint, poplar, safflower, papaya, aspen, grapevine, persimmon, cypress, banana, pine, switchgrass, elm, palm, barley, plum, petunia, anthurium, grapes, wheat, bermudagrass and peanuts. I was shocked.
It’s been a long time since I was part of the workforce. I help my husband a little but by and large he carries the ball. I’ve been talking to people and frankly I’m appalled at the things employers are getting away with these days.
I’m the first one to tell people to buy organic and I support labeling GMO’s in principle, in so much as I support accurately labeling GMO products. What I do not support is giving people a false sense of security. These bills have no substance. There are holes big enough to drive a truck through.
Green Mountain Gringo — believe it or not that’s what our new Salsa is called, and it’s a mouthful. I made a Mexican pizza for lunch today. Of course, today’s pizza looks a lot different than the ones I used to make. Today, I use a pizza stone, instead of an 11″ x 17″ pan. I like to mix the pizza sauce, salsa and refried beans.
I’ve read all these stories that the media is putting out about how organic food is a waste of money. How there is no difference in vitamin content. Well I can tell from the taste, the texture, the aroma, that there is a difference.
6-months ago I knew about genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) but I really didn’t care one way or the other. I’ve spent a little time each day learning more about GMO’s and the consequences. What I’ve found just keeps getting worse and worse…
I wonder who decided it was best for us to become cannibals? The thought to me conjures up images of Ernest Shackleton in The Endurance Expedition. That’s exactly what we are doing when we allow companies like Senomyx to use aborted fetuses in our food. The food companies and tasters are creating novel flavor enhancing compounds for the processed […]
We went to Walmart the other day to do our regular grocery shopping and we went to get an electric cart, they were all dead. My mom has had open heart surgery done and it is hard for her to walk that distance.
Why isn’t anyone concerned about the bees? It was all over the news a couple of years ago, now we hardly hear anything. If congress doesn’t act soon it will be too late and our planet will be irreversibly changed. I’ll show you…

I guess I should start at the beginning, when the hubby and I stopped in at Carl’s Jr. on Saturday the 26th we ordered four western bacon cheeseburgers and went home (15 miles) to eat with our son…
I know I can’t be the only person in the world whose iPhone doesn’t “feel” them. You know what I’m talking about, if you have the same problem I do. No matter how many times you touch the screen it can’t sense you. It’s maddening.
I picked up a couple of SilPat Non-Stick Baking Mats (11-5/8-Inch x 16-1/2-Inch) and I am so glad I bought two. These mats are great, nothing sticks to it and the mat stays in place. I love that it saves me on parchment paper.
